... ended up was more like an industrial area with no sign of an information office to help us. With it just being a quick stop on the chance of seeing something we didn't want to go wasting time searching so carried onto Luxembourg. We arrived at a very pleasant little camp site just after midday and the sun is out. We have paid for 2 nights and are going to chill out this afternoon and head into the city in the morning. Three countries in one morning is pretty good going ...

... Headed off after delicious breakfast and making up our baguettes to take with us for lunch atop a mountain. Drove to Argentieres which is further down the valley from Chamonix, and caught the cable car lift up the mountain (1900 m) – our starting place for our hike called 'Point De Vue’ – up to the edge of the Argentiers glacier. Descriptions of the walk compared it to the Mer de Glace glacier we went to on Monday ...

WOW,WOW,WOW is all I can say to describe this mornings ride, we rode up hills and cruised back down with mighty mountains to our left and right. Way up in the mountains you would think you would feel isolated - not in France there are small villages ...

Chamonix is only 14kms from the Swiss border and although deciding against going to Geneva, we wanted to see a bit of Switzerland. We drove up the valley from Chamonix to Argentiere and Vallorcine in France to Trient and La Forclaz at the top of the mountain pass looking down the valleys and open lands of Switzerland. We decided not to go to Martigny. We are aware that if we move onto ...

... first day was a 1400 meter 17 mile climb all up hill. We found refuge at a pilgrim house with a crazy widowed animal lady. She lined us up with not to do's and kept eyes on everyone the whole night and morning. Her damn roosters went off at 4 am before the sun came up. They must have been a little off in the head like her. Of course living with ten cats, two dogs, and however many other animals she had I'd be crazy too. The first day lived ...
