... it allowed us to gather things without having to be concerned about weight or the limiting size of our bags, now the car is gone we have to get back to 23kg per bag and 7kg for each piece of hand luggage. Next week we head off to Geneva en route to Russia, so we'll need to have it all sorted out by then.
After leaving the Piedmont region of Italy, and before heading back to Geneva for the airport, we made a quick two-day stop in the beautiful French alpine town of Chamonix. Arriving here on Thursday in the driving rain, we kept hoping for a break in the weather so that we could see the fabulous alps, including the Mt. Blanc, the highest peak in Europe.

Waiting at the bottom with Sam and Amandine, were our beautiful French family - Bernie, Corinne, Baptiste and Cappucine, who had driven to Chamonix to spend the afternoon with us and say final goodbyes.
