Well, this is being written from the plane on the way back to the UK, as you can see it says Belarus but it's still 35,000ft out of reach.

I was up and out of the hotel by 8.30 to leave Varanasi. I was very very sorry to say goodbye to the ghats, sadhus, travellers, the hotel and bustling street, but couldn't wait to get out of the minging lane.

... the history as we wandered round. Went to the Jain temple opposite the fort where there was lots of singing, chanting, bell ringing and arranging of rice into little piles. Looked around the bird hospital (not so pleasant) and a meditation centre (interesting). Then into old Delhi- mad chaos of noise and traffic, people pushing and calling out, open fronted shops with an array of colourful items- no time to stop! ...
