... it was SO good!
After dinner we went to Ground Zero again to see the two giant lights where the towers used to be. When we got down there the firehouse across the street from GZ was open and had a memorial inside and a wall of memorials outside, and the engine was outside on display. 5 of the guys who died in the attacks worked there and the other Firefighters were telling stories to tourists and stuff, it was really sad, but it was great to be there and see it all.

On Wednesday I went for a walk around Manhattan and ended up at Times Square where every inch of space seems to utilised for advertising! After having lunch sitting on the red steps that don't actually go anywhere (not sure what they are for other than to have a wee seat on!) I joined the queue for reduced broadway tickets for that night. Opting for Shrek the Musical saved me 40% on the face value of the tickets - a bargain at $78! The ...

New York City, New York, United States majse... the fried options head down to 9th Avenue into Hells Kitchen for some great restaurants. Hells Kitchen was not known for it's good food until recently but now you can find a great variety of restaurants from traditional American Diners, to Deli's, Sushi, Grills, Thai, Itallian and Chinese. There's even a $1 a piece chicken shop (Steven's Favourite). The best area along the avenue is the 10 blocks from 42nd and 52nd streets. Do look up... It's pretty.
New York City, New York, United States runewoodman... to mention I got a killer cold that put the trip off for another week. Through it all I enjoyed my boys in blue taking home the Superbowl Championship and got to see them live an in person at the victory parade in the Valley of Champions. It has also been nice to reconnect with my friends, though I didn't get to see as many as I would have liked, though the fault is my ...

Construction crews and machinery, meanwhile, were busy with the rebuilding effort. Next on our list was the Empire State Building. Even though our feet and legs protested at the mere thought of more walking, we set off again. Once there we decided to rest for a bit on a street bench and watched with curiosity at an unknown event unfolding before us. Two motorcycle ...

First of all the gargantuan bureaucracy that is at the core of such a mammoth organisation %u2014 fundamental yet alarmingly painful to see in action my friend assures me %u2014, and the condition of often powerless captive of prominent member states and their agendas.
