... shop and we found heaps of old 80s toys that we had when we were kids which was fun.

After our tour it was time to hit the town with a dinner at Buddy V's aka The Cake Boss' Italian restaurant which was organised by Nathan and Mark for Billy. Billy said he had the best Chicken Parma he has ever had...which is a big call but deserved as the food and service was amazing!! ... back in the 90's. He had been a regular competitor in the Winter X Games as an aerialist and subsequently been host of these games for the last 13 years. Definitely a pioneer in the extreme winter sports. Nowadays he is a little more grown up and is an ambassador for Obermeyer and also in demand as a commentator for these events. Incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining, he certainly added to the overall enjoyment for us.

... Rugged up again we made our way to the stadium. Cloudy overcast start with the temperature around -8 but the sun made its appearance mid morning warming us up nicely. The course was superbly groomed and the snow was in excellent condition due to the cold night.

... as we had anticipated and the speeds that they reach are amazing. They are fearless!!

As this event is a precursor to the World Championships here in Feb 2015 there were many more sponsors tents and promotions than at Aspen. We visited them all and came away with a bag of goodies - champagne stoppers, key rings, luggage tags, stickers, t shirt, toe warmers, lip balms, several cowbells, picnic rugs, posters and a supply of breakfast/ muesli ...

... for him to do this. I wanted to track down a friend from Thredbo who also works at Beaver Creek. It was great to catch up with Sarah Jones and the surprise on her face when I walked into her office was worth it. I was the last person she expected to see in Beaver Creek. She is the only Aussie working in the Ski School here in 2015.

The lovely Sarah gave us half price lift tickets to use whilst we were here. These were greatly appreciated. $120 down to $60 ...
