Stateline into Florida we were hoping for a little warmer weather than we had
      been experiencing.

      Taking the
alternate route Highways 90 & 98 rather than the very busy Interstate 10
Highway, we found ourselves winding along the shores of the Gulf of
Mexico. More white sands and blue
waters made it a very pleasant trip.

... winter in earnest with a 3 day, 1400 mile drive to New Mexico on I-10. We expect dry, sunny weather. Glad we hunkered down here today during this storm. We hope to make it to Las Cruces by Wednesday afternoon to pick up my new camera at a UPS store. We plan stop in Baton Rouge Trader Joes, to restock some essential supplies.

We will spend Thanksgiving and a week in southern New Mexico, where we will join several ...

... wasn't the worst. Thanks to the hole in the ozone my skin was prepared. :) we had fajitas for supper. And tonight we pulled out the thrift shop clothes that we'd bought earlier in the trip. We all swapped and turns out I'd ended up with a kilt and matching tartan vest with a lovely orange shirt to go with it. The material made me ridiculously hot in the heat and I was seriously struggling. The sun had definitely taken it out of most of us so we all crawled into bed fairly ...

... and marshmallows. He got a few of them to jump but it wasn't anything super spectacular. The swamp was absolutely stunning in parts, when we pulled off the main river into the little streams it was like another world entirely. Basically had entered Narnia. On the way out we saw a big alligator possibly between 8 and 10 feet. This one jumped pretty high and it was very impressive compared to the others. Once the tour finished up we ate lunch in the car park there ...
