Oops, i found out by accident that swinoujsce, poland is very nice. Great new marina just over the unmarked border. It was only on the way back i saw a sign saying what the speed limits were in deuchland. I was thinking as I was driving that i must be close to the border as the signs had taken on a definate Polish sound to the names and the people looked polish(dont ask me to define that). Greifswald was a bit interesting. Really friendly but the 10 ft high nazi slogans on the buildings as you enter town are a bit offputting. i realise it is just one tosser with some paint. But the sign has been there for a very long time. Maybe 10 yrs. I am told the nazi problem is a lot better in the last 5 yrs. Thats nice. The high powered rifle that punctuated each goal of the soccer match (that the whole of germany seems to me watching) was a nice touch. ...
Onward to Poland
... weren't still drinking were sleeping on floors throughout the 3rd deck, or sitting up against a wall, unconscious with a beer can in one hand and a burned out cigarette in the other. I suppose their theory is if they get hammered enough they won't mind sleeping on a dirty floor. The irony is that they spent way more on booze than I did on a comfy cabin.
