... place got its name.  i ate some fantastic fish and chips and wondered the town when the sun went down.  i woke early the next morning before 6am and took photos of the sunrise and the ocean kyakers.  it was a nice change of pace from the cities that we have been in.  

2/12 On Tuesday morning, we set off from the Surf Camp at Coff Harbour and made our way to Byron Bay, where we had a short stop. This is a beautiful town with a big sandy beach. finally got to come out and play with the kangaroos and crocodiles,
which he was very happy about, as being only 5 cm tall he had not made
the minimum requirement of 120cm to ride the big 6.. so was feeling a

Saw some kangaroos in the wild which was rather exciting because you cant say you've been to Australia without seeing a wild kangaroo! So yeah, loved town of 1770 and don't feel too bad about not going to fraser island as even though people say its amazing, they do have the highest population of the worlds deadliest spider there!

... 9:40 so, reluctantly, we hail a cab that gets us there at 9:55. I had hoped that the distance from the city centre would mean we would be away from most of the schoolies. This proves correct but instead we are at the part of town that all the older drunken idiots have come to in order to escape the schoolies as well.
