... best surf movies ever made have been created here. We also visited Waimea Valley. It is a natural And cultural park. Very peaceful and a true paradise. It featured a restored Hawaiian village and a pretty impressive waterfall. Not to mention a tropical forest that featured some both enormous and beautiful flora. ... we jumped into the water, around 15m deep and bright blue we rays of sun reaching to the sandy bottom. And there in amongst this were pods of dolphins racing and darting around, displaying curiosity toward the graceless group floating onthe surface . The food was fine and our waitress was lovely - like they all are - willing and wanting to do anything to make your time there more comfortable when really they just want you to tip 20%. The minimum tipping percentage is 15% which is such a joke. We walked home and just as we were about to turn off the strip towards our hostel a bird shat on me. ... Curl' - it is where the world surf championships are held each year in December. No huge waves today, just mini ones, but goodness were they powerful - I got a bit worried about Sebastian at one point.
