We got back to our campsite, quickly packed up and were on the road by 7:30. We continued south and pulled over whenever we found something that we thought would make a good photo. ... and we stayed in the carpark for dinner and putting Zach to bed (part of the new plan) and then each of us took turns walking round the lodge and looking for wildlife in the bog that the lodge looks out over before the lake.
We then drove to the famous Oxbow Bend viewpoint for sunset and wildlife viewing. No wildlife but the sunset was stunning behind the Tetons Range so totally worth it.

Like all American events, they start with parading the American flag, thanking their military, singing their national anthem and generally congratulating themselves on being the best nation in the world. ... seen at this park, and saw a tree just outside of the visitor center with some black bear scratches (yikes), and learned about the natural communities within Grand Tetons NP. It is interesting how different GTNP is from Yellowstone, even though they are so close in proximity to each other. GTNP has the beautiful mountain range and we DID see a moose in the river today! Ended up at Edgewater RV Park at Lakeside, Montana, the next day. Nice walk around the village and Flathead Lake. Found a nice little place to have dinner.
