It's heavy on history and food , proudly being the birthplace of a former Pope (Paul III) .The local food delicacy is Olive all'ascolana - veal-stuffed fried olives. Pretty steep on calories and deep fried , we were a bit reluctant , however ...Mama Mia ..they were delicious. We also had the Tartufo- Truffle ...

The view from the pass is magnificent. Jackets are on for the descent because there is a chill in the air and we bomb down with the enormous cliffs of Vettore looming up into the clouds on our left. ... would come here as a child to visit his grandparents and play amongst the olive trees which stand in the back. Alfio tells us that one giant olive tree In the front is well over 150 years old. While it was unsafe to enter into the house, we were able to take a peek inside. Next stop: the Corropoli square. Surrounded by buildings hundreds of years old, the square is alive with laughter, debate and much gesturing. It's a ...

... we see those. But nothing is flat. As we drive, wave after wave of hills go by. Some with small ancient villages perched on the peak and rows of olive trees cascading down the side. Alba Adriatica, you ask? It is a small resort town on the coast of the Abruzzo region in central Italy. Really laid back. Where the Italians take their families for a weekend. We come here to fulfill the more specific dream of Lisa-- to visit the town of Corropoli where ...
