... who the hell asked Turner to be so shamelessly self-indulgent about his children? Well, the fact of the matter is that all of these wonderful things I have enumerated about my children need to be understood in order for you to see the realization I encountered on that long drive in Italy. What I realized, with a crushingly clear thought, was that all those days and hours and minutes that I have been with my children, all the travels on trains, ...

... life!!! Again something I never ever thought I would experience but something that I think will stay with me for the rest of my life. After a very busy morning gene. Then went back to the coliseum to look through it and then spent the rest of the day exploring ruins and palaces. It was another stinking hot day. Unfortunately our day didn't end on the greatest notes because one of the girls on our trip almost got mugged : pick pocketed by ...

The famous tower that leans! This was only a very quick stop in Pisa to but compete tourists :) we couldn't afford to stay much more than an hour anyway because it costs an insane €200 an hour to park in the car park around the corner from the tower. It was pretty cool to see it but it would not be something that I feel I would ever need to see again. We have been so lucky with the weather it has been absolutely ...

... easy to get around Florence because it is almost set up in a grid and all the streets / alleyways go off the main square. That square was absolutely packed with people! There was also a big film crew getting set to shot for the latest Inferno movie. Someone in our hostel saw Tom Hanks the other day filming for it... Wish that was us! We went to a leather shop to listen to a guy talk to us about how to determine ...

The home of Romeo and Juliet :) Of course it isn't a true story but the have definitely made the most of it all. One of the biggest tourist attractions is the balcony that Juliet stands on. They also have a statue of Juliet there and it is said to be good luck if you rub her right breast... So of course I had to do it. Although we were only there for a few hours it seemed like a beautiful place. Lots of little alleyways to explore and huge markets with delicious fruit cups!!! Yum ...
