    ... Gothic is a biological research laboratory in the Elk Mountains. Gothic was a neat town. Lots of research buildings and cabins. One store which sold ice cream and snacks.

    ... beginner and intermediate terrain. It was quite warm by the time I arrived and the snow was very heavy. I took an ungroomed black and was sorry—hacked my way down the heavy wet snow. I took a few runs through the beginner terrain park and enjoyed doing the little jumps.

Park and then follows the Fraser River and Colorado River into Glenwood Springs.  It was definitely worth the trip.  It takes about 5 1/2 hour by train and is a 2 1/2 hour drive via I-70 to get to Glenwood Springs.  It wasn't about being in Glenwood, it was about the trip there and back.  Absolutely beautiful trip.     I made my way to Woody Creek Tavern where Hunter S Thompson drank. I ordered a cheese enchilada and a 90 Schilling. While eating (a pretty decent meal) and looking at the photos that covered the walls, I noticed a homemade shrine to "HST-GONZO". I became excited and stood up to get a picture.
