... bumpy tracks on the island, definitely not one for the camper van! Our first stop was at Mckenzie lake, gorgeous. We had a swim for an hour and then had lunch, BBQ fish, steak and salads. Glad I had the fish as the Kookaburras kept swooping down and pinching people's steaks, they don't like fish. Some horrible huge flies there though, I did not like them one bit. Seeing the 40 year old stoner munching down a pie we decided I brave the rain get soaked for a decent steak pie. Totally worth it though. We wake up early to beautiful sun and not storms like everyone said and get on the bright yellow bus to the ZOO!! Craig going on like a kid at Xmas so happy. Straight in ...

... ranger advised us to move to the side as sometimes they mistake humans for trees and begin to climb.
I loved all the tributes to Steve all around the zoo especially the parts he put there himself such as handprints with his family on the floor. What I also found fascinating was that most of the crocodiles there Steve had captured himself. Overall we had such a good day and were truly exhausted-hopefully a good night's sleep for yet another early bus. ...
