... Anyway, after arriving, it took ages to kit the kids out with skis, helmets and particularly boots. Oscar's number one priority in clothing is always comfort so boots took a while as none of them are comfortable. Astrid's comments were not always helpful either!

Finally, skiing started at 12 ish with some lessons from Olav about snow-ploughing and steering. He has improved since he tried to teach me - back then, his technique was to yell 'Turn!' even though I ...

... flat, some jutting out at the top and look like a Flatiron. They are very striking as they are tall and have pine trees growing on them. The University of Colorado, Boulder is right in the center of the town. It is a fairly large university with mostly brick buildings. It is a very beautiful campus. It is definitely a university town as there are lots ...

... group got to tour INSTAAR (Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research) and meet with Dr. John White who is the director of this facility. He's a very dynamic speaker and I'm pretty sure I've seen him interviewed on CNN or something similar. The second part of the trip was to tour NOAA. Their security is about as tight as Redstone Arsenal. Not sure what's going on there that has them so uptight. We got to actually see the analysis in progress ...
