... Falls. We got to the trail, but chose not to do the hike. Again today, the storms were moving in. I didn't want to get caught up on a dirt road that was getting washed out. So we headed back down the mountain and back to Gunnison. The timing was almost perfect. We just got down to the paved road before the heavy rains came.

... Pass as we headed to Buena Vista. We plan to meet Randy Peters and his wife Dori. Randy is a friend of mine who I worked with for many years at John Deere. Randy retired in 2009 and moved to his dream house in the mountains in Buena Vista. It should be a good visit. While traveling through the pass, Sheila and I stopped to have a bit of a snowball fight.

Monday I went to Snowmass for the 8:30am Village Express Lift open. They had reported 8 inches overnight. I got first tracks down some runs on the way to Big Burn Lift 9am open, then more fresh off that lift. After dinner we had to hightail it from the Venetian down to the MGM Grand to have our minds blown by David Copperfield. It was an amazing show and some of the **** he did was so incredible. Billy and I are sure he is an alien... there is no other explanation!! From there we did a lot of drinking and some gambling at the ***** table, which was fun but 'momma did not get a new pair ...
... is now a Costco and a Walmart and the development on the way to Aspen was solid all the way to Basalt. Golf courses and condominium developments everywhere. We counted more than 50 private jets at the Aspen Air and knew the town would be crowded. All of the two story smaller motels along the highway near Buttermilk no longer existed or were now employee housing. ...
