Late afternoon it was time to try out the hot tub. It was as warm as a bath and quite a surreal feeling to have snow around us. After this we assumed our favourite chairs in front of the fireplace for a much enjoyed libation. We could get very used to this ...

After two huge days on the hill it was good to have a quiet evening. A couple of delightful Californian Pinot Noirs in front of the fire was a lovely way to finish one of the most exciting weekends we have experienced. To think we do it all again with the men next weekend in Beaver Creek! Bring it On!!

Carol singing, Champagne bottle opening with a Sabre (very dramatic) and of course a huge, superbly decorated and well lit tree. ... by any means but the shopping! Obviously Aspen is an expensive town where the rich and famous come to play. Louis Vuitton , Burberry, Ermanagildo Zegna, Gucci, Prada, Kemo Sabe to name a few. We window shopped our way around and that was enough. Kemo Sabe was by far the most interesting. A true throwback to the real west. The only time we have ever been offered a free beer in a shop and we didn't have to buy anything. ...

... Limelight Hotel at the base of Aspen Mountain. Certainly our room didn't disappoint, roomy and comfortable. We hadn't eaten since breakfast so a Gorgonzola and Mushroom wood fired pizza with a bottle of Californian Pinot Noir was a lovely way to end the day and celebrate Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be grateful for. Looking forward to waking up in the morning to the view from our window.
