Some of the original buildings are evident and very well maintained. They are similar in style to the 'painted ladies' houses that we saw in San Francisco. All the local businesses are in the process of putting up their decorations. You have to admit the North Americans do this better than most. It was great to see real live Christmas trees for sale outside the local supermarket. Different types Spruce, fir, etc) ...

After two huge days on the hill it was good to have a quiet evening. A couple of delightful Californian Pinot Noirs in front of the fire was a lovely way to finish one of the most exciting weekends we have experienced. To think we do it all again with the men next weekend in Beaver Creek! Bring it On!!
... We sat at the back of the stand with our Aussie flag proudly displayed. A large group of Swedish supporters set up next to us so we ended up supporting Sweden as well.
There was a buzz of excitement in the air as we waited for the first skier. Lots of noise and action. Music, announcer revving up the crowd, giveaways, a big screen to watch (a JumboTron) they call it here.

... our accent and just wanted to show us their store. Huge animals heads on the wall, antlers, thousands of Stetson hats, whips, belt buckles, knives, animal hides, you name it. We enjoyed it!
In the afternoon we were able to wander around the Wax/Ski tuning Room for the World Cup Teams. Was interesting to see the technicians working on the skis and gaining a greater appreciation of what goes into being a World ...
