Today we knew exactly what we wanted to Independence Pass!! Sarah and Josh had told us how awesome it was so we just had to find out for ourselves!

Independence Pass is only open in the summer so would be closed soon...if you look it up I'm sure it will show you the route but it basically takes you down through Minturn, then through Leadville (the highest city in ...

    Hello everyone,

I have finally reached the point where I can just relax around a swimming pool. I know quite silly to arrive at this but the last six weeks have been amazingly fantastic but really intense. It is nice as well to have time with my friends in Boulder.

Aspen reminded me a bit of Banff, cute little ski/snowboard town with lots of hikes in the summer.

Unfortunately, I did not realize how high up Aspen is (2400m above sea level) and once we started our hike at Maroon Bells, I felt quite dizzy and tired. Turns out I must have had some sort of altitude sickness at 3000m above sea level... That happened on our hike in Santa Fe as well.. well, now I know :)

I recovered quickly and finished the hike at least...

I've said this before, I have learned from experience on these road trips that, just when you think you have nothing to do, when you have nothing planned, that’s when life plans your day for you. And that is what happened to us today. We left our hotel at 7:20 and 61 degrees (which quickly descended to 48 degrees and later hit 90), under mostly cloudy skies. All we had planned was a drive to Gunnison, CO ...

... to stay and eat in the Village to enjoy more of the festival’s entertainment. The next morning, we again woke up to a striking view of hot air balloons filling up the Snowmass skyline. It’s on my bucket list to one day go on a Hot Air Balloon ride- I can only imagine how incredible the view would be.  We enjoyed a delicious breakfast down in our hotel lobby and with a late check-out request approved, Keller and I headed to the ...
