    We flew into Brussels at noon after spending a long Friday at the airport. David survived his first long flight and the food wasn't too bad! After purchasing train tickets and finally navigating transportation in the Belgian language (we were beginning to regret our decision to not purchase a Belgian phrase book), we arrived in the center of Brussels.

    We stepped outside of Bruxxelles-Central and breathed in the rich (cigarette smokey) European air! ...

    We shopped down a couple of the side streets looking at the Belgian lace and brocade, the chocolates, the waffles, and pretty much anything you might want. We stopped to see the Mannikin Pis fountain which is famous or should we say infamous. It is much smaller than one would think from just seeing the photos—if one would like you can even buy chocolate statues of this little boy ...

    ... wonderful and the kids wanted Haagendas Ice Cream...we grown-ups passed. We took pics in the Grand Place Central and thanks to Chris and Wendy, got a ride home instead of walking. Thanks for making our trip extra special!!!

    It was a wonderful day! But boy are we beat! It seemed easier 40 years ago!!!
