After a long (but excellent) flight we were a bit weary when we arrived last night, but quickly settled into our cosy apartment (located on the Upper West Side) and went in search of some food and wine... even though Qantas had already given us more food and wine than we needed, including a beautiful Clonakilla shiraz. The apartment is in a great …

So after an efficient flight from Tampa, we were welcomed by a reasonably functional subway system (not as good as the London Underground, but am discovering nowhere is) and rocketed into midtown NYC on Manhattan Island.

The journey over takes 15 minutes and half way across I can't decide which direction to look. In front of me is Liberty Island, featuring arguably the most famous landmark in ...

... The ice hockey finals between Hollywood and NYC were on tonight and we are one block form Maddison square gardens so the atmosphere was intense. Two huge slices of pizza for $8 with a tip and we were set. A lovely local NYC fan was happily chatting us through ice hockey And the game and stats which was quite nice. It's the first time in 20 years that the Rangers have made the finals. We walked around a little ...
