... With this being said, transition, change, letting go, or saying goodbye are all good experiences to live through to experience the fulfillment and importance of living in the present moment.

Leaving "home" or one place and setting sail for new places and new people gives one a sense of excitement and fear of the unknown. ...

      Marooned in Steamboat Springs

... br> Steamboat Springs has produced more winter Olympians than any other town in North America and is known as "Ski Town U.S.A." The downhill ski area is located on the south end of town but appears to come right down to the main street. About two blocks from the main street is the home to a permanent ski jump which is the longest continually operated ski hill in North America. In all of our trips downtown I saw only two adults and one child that would be classified as overweight. The kids are out riding bikes or skate boarding and running along with many adults. Steamboat Springs and Vista Verde Ranch 2013

... I like it. I guess it’s just the familiarity one gets with an area over time; I like knowing what to expect at the hotel, knowing what my dining options are and being able to ski around without glancing at the trail map. It’s also great to have an instructor who I’ve worked with for years, so that he is familiar with how I ski and we don’t have to waste time diagnosing my problems. Steamboat is the kind of town where the more often you go, the more you learn to appreciate it.

Plenty of mountain space even with holiday crowd

... the day when you are heading home, try to go down the blues or blacks (preferable) down the front side of the mountain to avoid people running into you or falling right in front of you.As I said, Steamboat Springs is surprisingly empty compared to most resorts its size. Even though there aren't many crowds, remember to always be considerate of other skiers/riders and practice SlopeWise safety and you will have a great vacation!
