      - Woke up at 8:30

      -Got so full that i couldnt go anywhere so i went to the motel room and fell asleep

      This is cattle country. Cowboys and skiers do come together in Steamboat Springs. Every weekend for two months in the summer there is a pro rodeo competition.       ... we wanted to go. Because the bus rides are free, most of the riders were probably service people and they did not speak English either. We did see young kids riding by themselves so parents must trust the area. One bus driver did say that crime here is very low to almost nonexistent. We saw not one policeman anywhere whether it was a uniformed officer or a police car.

      ... If I go next year I’ll have to do the Wed-Sat option which really is not enough time at the ranch. I’ll now need to reconsider whether it’s worth packing up and leaving Steamboat for just a 3 night/2 day stay at the ranch--and if I do decide I want to do that, I’ll have to hope that they have room the exact dates I need to do it. Time marches on and everything changes--most times not for the better in my opinion.

    • Avoid Regular Meal Times: If you are able to get out on the mountain early, take a break at 10:30 or 11 for an early lunch. This will help avoid huge lunchtime crowds and allow you to get a table, especially on cold and snowy days.
    • Ski Popular Runs Early: Head over to Tomohawk or Buddy's Run early, they are torn up with beginner skiers by the end of the day.
