      ... morning. Dad says he and I will go to Starbucks while mom does her exercise thing. Mom and dad had lunch at a place called Local Oceans Seafood. Mom was happy to enjoy some oyster shooters. All the seafood is local and most of the seafood they buy off the local fishing boats. A stroll along the pier afterwards to see the Sea Lions was fun.....but are they noisy! More Newport tomorrow and then some hiking along with seeing Yaquina bay ...

      ... not of sand, but of roundish baseball sized gray rocks. The rocks seem to get a bit smaller as one moves toward the water.       Weather: Finally sunny, some sea fog because of the sea spray. 17C We woke to the pounding surf and sunshine! We walked along the beach in the park for awhile, our first walk along a Pacific coast beach. The surf from the storm was wonderful.
