... I think enclosure is actually the wrong word to use here. It was a relatively open area where kangaroos mixed freely with humans, birds and at least one emu. There are in fact heaps of chess-set-tables in the mall. We didn't expect them to be used but perhaps Russians like the sun too.
... we was told it was about a 45 minute walk but was lied to! We walked all along Byron Beach then up and over a mini mountain then finally the climb to the lighthouse. We have definitely lost any fitness we had and the humidity was pretty bad we were nearly dying when we got to the top. It was worth it though when we saw a huge pod of dolphins playing in the sea. ... in Surfers was nice and warm - around 30 degrees, and was quite humid so our clothes were sticking to us quite quickly - and by the end of the 45 minute walk into town - we were quite minging! A nice town, it is a party place, with lots of 'youngsters' out getting ******, but with a lovely beach and fantastic surf. Unfortuantely didn't have time for a surfing lesson - and will hopefully get one in at Christmas at Bryon Bay.
