... most amazing Christmas Lights at a house owned by Ken Irwin Snr. Ken is a famous Palm Springs resident and the owner of LaMancha Villas, an exclusive celebrity resort. Celebrities would use LaMancha as a place to stay when they were in the limelight for the wrong reasons. The lights were amazing with over 1000 000 used and some amazing displays.

... Monroe statue, and walked along Palm Springs' own "Boulevard of Stars", like Hollywood has. Granted, I'd only heard of about half of them, but it was cool seeing the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bette Midler, Bob Hope and Dinah Shore immortalized in concrete. Another thing to note are all the election signs around the city for Mary Bono Mack, the widow of Sonny Bono, who also has his own statue in town.

... to ride the aerial tramway up to the top of Mount San Jacinto. We weren't sure what to expect at the top and were worried it could turn out to be a really touristy waste of time and money. It turned out to be well worth the $23 though, giving very easy access to a pristine wilderness via a cable car ride with spectacular views. The tramway station was no more than 250 yards up a slight hill from the car park but nearly everyone stood at a bus stop and waited ...
