Checking in proved to be more tricky.
Sweet Drew with the delicious dimples on reception smiled sweetly and told me that our room was unfortunately not quite ready but he hoped it would be ready by 5pm.
The two complimentary drinks vouchers went someway to appease things, so we sat in the reception area and downed two beers.

... back to Palm Springs, I would like to hike up here. I had the same slight out-of-breath experience that I had at Mauna Kea, and had to move slowly and put a sweater on. I don't think I'll ever get used to being too hot and having to seek out cooler weather.
It was a lovely evening and a welcome stop, and after a good meal I was eager to get to bed and prepare for the next leg of the journey... to Las Vegas.
We had the most amazing time at Coachella. We met a bit of a crew at our hostel in L.A who were going the same weekend as us.
