    ... back with a voucher. Over the final hurdle and towards the finish line….

    So being a ‘gold member’, they put us up in a really fabulous hotel. And tonight, being a Wednesday, the hotel has what they call a Happy hour. In reality it’s about two and half hours where they serve free food and wine. A great ending to what has been a quite disastrous day.     ... then up to Collins and headed for home. As we walked we saw lots of other restaurants which seemed less expensive than The Tides some of which also had good live music. We eventually found a bus stop and waited a while but no bus came so we kept walking to the next stop. We sat for a few minutes and then kept walking back to 21st street and our hotel. A couple of buses did pass but we didn't catch them. Back to the hotel about 10, some blog and bed about 11.

    ... we walked about 5 mins to beach. It is steaming hot but somehow we managed to get everyone down to the beach - before a shower makes us run back to the flat!

    Then we got ready to go and meet Ru's cousin Dom. We arranged to meet him at a Cuban restaurant about 20 minute walk from our house. Dom's wife is pregnant and wasn't feeling up for coming out, but he brought his 5 year old son Julian along who the kids enjoyed playing with. ...

    ... and there was no trouble getting through security etc. The Iberia Air plane was very modern and comfortable. Goldie got us exit row seats. I took a sleeping pill and pini and I slept most of the way to Madrid, Spain. Max was super busy with his various movies, books and games. So cute.
