... trying to change the settings on my camera and didn't notice I had lowered my flashlight... which created a pool of plankton around me. Suddenly a large manta came out of nowhere and hit me by mistake, knocking me over! LOL

It was a crazy experience to see these giant beasts swim around swooping in and out, up and down, above us and around in a goofy ballet. A great way to end a trip filled with amazing experiences.

... we would not eat here again, except perhaps getting a bowl of fruit. It was cold pastry, coffee, and mixed fruit. hardly worth eating. The hotel is really just OK. The shower had no water pressure. And the room smells musky, reminding me of the hotel room in HongKong where we stayed last year. The AC is running all day all night so it is not hot, just feel damp. Ugh!! .... But can't beat this location, unless we want to pay the higher ...

... number of luxury stores in Waikiki. It doesn't quite match the tropical island getaway that the Hawaiians are trying to promote. I think the commercialism is extreme. The quaint Hawaiian village atmosphere doesn't exist in Waikiki but in the backstreets there are remnants of the original Hawaiian character.

Waikiki Beach is lovely and the waters clear and teeming with fish. After Disneyland, we can now relax. Well sort of.

... had food stands and a Hawaiian singer performing. We had lunch there and continued to Turtle Bay where to our surprise, Brutus, a 45 year old green turtle, had come ashore. Wildlife personnel tag and track turtles in this area and volunteers are at the beach everyday to ensure tourists do not get closer than 5 feet.
