... we'd stay at an RV park in Leander this time, since Kimberly was up there. As it turned out, it seems like we spent a lot of time driving, since most of the folks we saw were in southwest Austin.

Rouse is a fairly new school, and is quite a nice facility. Kimberly is the junior varsity / assistant varsity volleyball coach, and teaches senior English. It'd be nice if she could get a job someday teaching PE or something ...

Yesterday Kathy wanted to go visit one of the larger animal shelters in Austin. Austin Pets Alive! (http://www.austinpetsalive.org/) keeps loads of dogs and cats in their facility and even more in foster homes. Kathy was interested in seeing about volunteer opportunities and to ...

... run is relatively short. An 8 mile run, however, can hardly be comfortably completed in an unfamiliar urban setting wrought with traffic lights. Luckily, Austin had a solution - a hike and bike trail along a portion of the Colorado River that the city controls via a dam. That reservoir is known as Lady Bird Lake after Lady Bird Johnson, wife of former US president Lyndon Johnson. She was instrumental in the beautification of what was then known as Town Lake. ...
