About 1/2 way through the Peninsula, we get a text from Brad and he will be wrapping up the client early so we decided to meet him in San Antonio instead of Corpus Christi. Unfortunately the best way to go at this point was continue on the Peninsula and take the Island Ferry into Galveston. Most of the pics are from the ferry and some of the ...

On our way to Galveston we got caught in traffic so we opted for an adventure in the form of a detour. What a surprising view. The Gulf roughly lapping the shores; beautiful homes on stilts, pastel colors of beach community homes were easy on the eye. I wish more of them were caught in pictures. The embarkation process is really very easy and effortless. We get the usual picture with the ...

... space that we squeezed the 5 bikes into and paid for 6 hours parking. We were going to eat at Fishtails Restaurant, directly opposite the pier, but the queue was 1h 15m wait. So, we crossed the road, and went to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co restaurant on the beginning of the pier. LJ had the "Seafood Fiesta" which was fish, shrimps and Tosca Balls (fishy/crabby things) and fries. Dave had "Bucket of Boat Trash" which was big crab legs, shrimps and fish. Oh and ...

... down to us. Much better.

We found a Galveston board game in the house (same as Monopoly but with Galveston attractions), so spent the morning playing that and finishing laundry. We are only two short blocks to the beach/seawall, but it was ugly out there so will have to do that another day when it warms up.

We went on a little driving tour. It was cold, windy and raining off and on, so we ...
