... the town was full of horrid tourist drivers. We witnessed one trying to angle park in a parallel space, and another trying to back into a space and crash into the truck behind him. I personally thought he was traveling a bit too fast for parking.....and apparently his skill level wasn't up to par either. I said to Laurie "let's get out of here. This isn't what we came here for." And we left quickly.

Our next stop was Cannon Beach, Oregon. ...

Ecola State Park came with a small $5 fee but it was worth it. First we went to the view point where we had stunning views over the beach inlets along the coast and a little lighthouse perched on a lonely rock in the ocean. It was nice to just sit and watch the ocean for a short while ...

Sidenote: Did you notice our group is now only 13 instead of 15?! Teri ended up in the emergency room early this morning with Les by her side. Seems something ...

... a cow moo-ing by projected through a loud speaker on car driving round the village. Eventually an announcement explains that this is the regular test for the tsunami warning system. (The moo-ing continues followed by the repeated announcement.) The next day we discover that this happens EVERY MORNING. I loved the logic that bovine sounds were the most calming and least panic inducing ...

... Oregon coast. The sun was out, sky is blue and the big question is which cute little coast town do we honor with our presence?

Seaside is almost like Coney Island with its indoor Carousel and plethora of cheap eateries and even cheaper souvenir stores. We ate at Finn’s, because it seemed appropriate and wandered around. The beach here is quite different than back home in northern California. It is very broad, like Coronado beach near ...
