Maroochydore

Hatten was von kleinen Papageien. Leider konnte man mir niemand sagen was dies für Tierschen waren. Naja egal, sahen auf jeden Fall nett aus und konnten für ihre Grösse richtig radau machen.

... of the sugarcane and sell it off for profit despite the fact that it's illegal and they'll most likely be fined. when Lana was little she recalls sometimes it would seem as if the whole valley was on fire. it was nowhere near that scale tonight, but i tried to get a few shots through the window screen to give you an idea. it was a neat sight nonetheless, and i can only imagine what it looked like when the whole valley was aglow.

Sunshine Coast

... we'll be heading to in December with both the Pickering and Wedl parents. But, for just a weekend trip, the Sunshine or Gold Coasts are popular. The Gold Coast is just south of Brisbane and more of a high-rise on the beach, Spring Break/Post Exams type of destination, which sounds similar to Myrtle Beach or Pensicola. We opted for the more laid-back, refined Sunshine Coast, which is just north of Brissie (as they say here ...

MAROOCHYDORE

... and I must admit once again we have a great site, and there are not many people here. There is a beautiful man-made lagoon with wild ducks swimming happily on it and lots of water fowl wandering around. The park is almost on the river and there's a great walking track along it. There is a gym here also (if we get really bored), and a little café which delivered hamburgers to our site in their "Cuisine Machine" so once we had showered and got ...

Noosa, Queensland

We camped on a campsite right on the beach and had an early morning dip, then went on a family outing to Noosa Heads with Aimee and her clan! We had a great time paddling in the sea with the twins and cuddling Barnaby :) We had a picnic all together and then sadly had to say our good byes until next time... We left Noosa and started the long drive to Airlie Beach and didn't make it, so we pitched up at campsite next to Lake Monduran for the night.

today we went to the australia zoo as part of the consolation tour. this is the park that the irwin family started and that steve irwin made famous. expensive but well worth it. there are some great animal exhibits and most of the animals are used to being handled so you can pet them and stuff. so of course, i battled with the kids all on school break to feed the kangaroos ...

Crikey! It's the Australia Zoo!!!

... Our first animal sighting as we strolled around was of three lizards, sunning themselves in perfect symmetry on top of a rock. This was amazing enough but as we began to take pictures, we noticed that directly behind them, were two giant tortoises lumbering ever so slowly to turn and face us. All we could say was Crikey! But this sort of thing was quite the norm here. Throughout the day we saw zoo attendants walking ...

The Sunshine Coast - Paradise on Earth

... Melissa & Colin were keen to just chill out a bit and enjoy the sun, despite the warnings of Colin's mum that a storm was coming. What storm? Why, there's not even a cloud in the sky (not yet, at least)! We never-the-less went out and did a bit of sightseeing. We explored the Ginger Factory and went to the fabled Big Pineapple Farm. The 'Big Pineapple' was to Melissa the one attraction that Colin had talked about the most - Much like ...

John Butler Trio!

... Ha! "But he's got an Aussie passport," was Downsey's rebuttal. As if those are hard to come by. Before the concert tonight, my boss Justin and I had another of our huge heart to hearts. These always start as arguments, last for hours, and end with the two of us feeling a lot better about our working relationship. All that seems to cause problems between us is a lack of communication, so we always end up having it out at full volume for as ...

Burned out.

... I liked that, I really support keeping everything out in the open. But how do I go about telling him that I am tired of him always, always assuming that I am doing something wrong? How do I tell him that I wish he would just let me clean the rooms and hang the washing and check people in and out in peace, without making it seem like I think I know more about running this place than he does? How do I tell him that in my opinion, Anthea and I are pretty darn good ...
