    even if the potatoes weren’t done until about an hour after the kabobs. With a
    new moon and few clouds, we could see thousands of stars and enjoyed the view
    before climbing into our tent and getting a little sleep.

    A few photos of the final day of the continental divide traverse backpacking trip. One thing kept coming to mind while packing out, and one picture tells all. 17 miles in total with about a mile worth of accumulated elevation gain. Felt better each successive day.     Wind. Throughout the first night the wind continued to cascade down from the mountains above like a waterfall. I could hear it start way up there somewhere, blowing the trees. It would roll down the valley sometimes passing over the tops of the trees but other times it would crash into my tent, threatening to pull up the stakes. Sleep was sporadic at best.

    ... Our lessons were separate, mike snowboarded and I skied. This was probably a good thing as it let us learn heaps and not let our competitiveness get in the way ;) My day was awesome!!
