... covered hilltops of Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Going up was scary but wonderful, going down was even scarier as our horses had to figure out where to place their hooves on the rocky ground. ... it was amazing. We finally reached the summit (after some terrifying moments of Pepijn's reckless driving on cliff-like road) and there was a place where you can just admire the beauty all around. There was a wedding going on up there too - was so nice! The weather was perfect. We were at 12,000 feet above sea level.

We left Price early in the morning for another hot day. We continued down US 6 to Green River and then headed east on I 70 to the Welcome Center at the first exit in Colorado. There was a quite a lot to do in this Grand Mesa area and Grand Junction but most of it involved long side trips and we are a little tired at this point. We continued on to Glenwood Springs which we had not seen ...

... breeze. I had never experienced "Fall" in Manhattan Beach...I guess I was catching up. They have been doing some work on Independence Pass...it is not as scary as it once was...but, still has it's moments of excitement when it becomes a VERY narrow one lane road with a very steep drop over the edge (with no guard rails). It is difficult for me to drive without gawking at the view too much...but survival calls for eyes on ...
