Saw the eagle rays at Hamelin Bay but it was a bit choppy for snorkeling. I did manage a swim in the ocean but away from the rays. I'm not sure how I would feel if one of them touched me in the water.
The Margaret River surf pro was in full swing for our visit. We spent a morning admiring the waves and the buff surfers; well I was admiring the surfers, not so sure about ...
... aptly named as there are a variety of Limestone caves there. We chose Lake Cave, spectacular we went right down into the bowels of the earth, 60 metres down and it's always 16 degrees winter and summer. Spooky, beautiful, fascinating and a bloody long climb up again. Just cooked our supper sausages and salad in the van and enjoying the last of the Wignalls Pinot Noir a cheeky red. Tomorrow we are off for a tour of a vineyard or a trip on the river .....decisions ...
Today was moving day:) I had mixed emotions of excitement and nerves. Heard so many good things about margaret river but after being so comfortable at hannahs it felt strange moving in with another stranger. Annie and her friend Mirianna and I drove down around midday and stopped for lunch in mandurah:) We arrived at the house at 5ish and we were all very pleasantly surprised. The house was huge and very nicely decorated:) complete with pool ...
... out the first rows of vines on the new estate.
I still have 3 bottles each of the first vintage Riesling and Late Picked Riesling both undrinkable now of course but nevertheless just a bit of history.
We tasted the current range and bought a few just to savour before we moved on. The girl who served us actually remembered Stan when we were having a chat so he hasn't been forgotten.
Back to MR for lunch and then a visit to a few ...
... the fire now going very nicely we decided to cook our tea on it. We had some fish and we fried it on the cooking grate along with onions and tomatoes. It didn't take long to cook and very soon we had a wonderfully tasty meal. It tasted a bit smoky and was absolutely delicious. We kept the fire going for ages until we had used up all the wood. We sat and watched the flickering flames enjoying the warmth until we could see ...
