Hua Hin.... Well a very different town to that of Bangkok, popularised when the Thai royalty needed somewhere to cool off from the heat if the capital, it now attracts a wholly interesting sort of European tourist (seemingly german, Russian and Swiss in the main) including an awful lot of men who appear to have found their Thai prize.... Too many young Thai ladies in over priced 'western style' bars for my liking, but hey as long as both parties are happy, no harm hey.

... mainly Thai people. It has a big seating area, with food stalls in a circle around the outside, giving you the option to eat from around 30 different stands. Great to see how night markets are a very social activity in Thailand. I enjoyed viewing what was being cooked and bought some delicious BBQ squid.

... with the 7km hua Hin stretch and then have a look at Khao Taliban beach, you have to go over monkey mountain to reach this. The hill has a temple at the top and I had wanted to see it but after reaching the foot of the hill and taking some distant photos I couldn't work out how to get up further and the locals were demanding money from me to feed a load of cats so I left it!  Instead after doing the first 7k walk along the beach dodging the hundreds of jelly fish ...

This is a top pick!

The previous evening, we'd discovered that after belting through 80 miles to get to Petchaburi, there was nothing a convenient distance from it to head to today. We therefore decided to give ourselves a break and do a short 40 miles to the tourist destination of Hua Hin. This also gave us the chance to head off the highway and check out some more rural Thailand. The roads were still great, but the scenery much more interesting. The traffic was minimal ...
