Historical Traveler Reviews Tasiana Hotel Apartment Complex Limassol

    This really is the pits!!!!

Just arrived back from a 2 week stay at the Tasiana 2 Apartments in Limassol. I have to say this has to be the worst accommodation I have stayed in over 18 years of foreign holidays.

To begin it is a misnomer to call this a complex. It is actually a series of apartment blocks owned by the same family. This had streets and pieces of waste ground with open waste bins and local residential houses all within the so called complex.

The apartment consisted of a main living area approximately 18' by 9' . The beds were fake leather setees folded down. During the night the sweltered sleeper awoke and had to peel himself off whatever part of the sofa his skin had spot welded itself to.Not pleasant!!!!

The bedroom was 12' by 9' The bedroom contained the air conditioning unit for the whole apartment which meant the rest of the apartment was just boiling.(This air con cost 4 Cyprus per day and even it began to fail toward the end of the holiday)

The bathroom was a cramped 6' by 4' containing a shower which was 2 1/4 feet square. Not really big enough for a grown man to turn in.It also meant that the bathroom was flooded regularly.

The maids changed our sheets twice in 14 days,a disgrace in the sweltering heat that was our lot.Towels were equally infrequent and we even had to empty our own rubbish most days. What did they get paid for?

We stayed mostly at the pool area which was adequate but was at the Tasiana Star, a five minute hike across streets and past waste ground from Tasiana 2. The staff at the pool bar were friendly but a previous TripAdvisors comment about the prices changing was accurate especially when the friendly bar manager Riad wasn't the one serving.

Overall my thoughts are that this is the bargain basement of package tourism.I am no five star snob by any means but I do think that there are certain basic standards to be met. The run down, dilapidated Tasiana doesn't seem to want to make the effort to come into the 21st Century and the tour operator Olympic seem content to make their massive profit (even at the low prices) and ignore the customer complaints.

    DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

    Basic but fine

Had a late booking 2-week break in the Mariana within the Tasiana complex. Room was fairly large with the basic facilities

and bathroom was also a good size with bath / shower. Bathroom was cleaned meticulously and beds made 4/5 times weekly, however table tops etc rather left but this proved no problem. The air conditioning was an expensive extra 4 a day but is a must. The Tasiana complex has 3 hotels within a short walk with the 'Star' 100 metres away with a good sized swimming pool and plenty of sunbeds. Additionaly a further hotel and Swimming pool is in the hotel opposite which can be used by Tasiana clients. All staff within complex were friendly and helpful as required.

5-10 minutes walk away is the beach road with a number of restaurants and bars with food served a good quality in all.

These apartments are fine for a base and for a cheaper holiday and was very good for our purpose.

    Stay away

this place is awful its filthy and falling to bits. After lots of complaints to the managment about the state of the room we had we where offererd a choice of 4 other rooms all of which where disgusting we

finally accepted a studio which was the best of a bad bunch. The

Cleaner called into our room a total of 3 times throughout the week

but emptied the rubbish no clean towels where left or even the floor

moped. The Shower literally flooded the apartment each time you took one which left the floor very slippery and quiet dangerous. This

is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.

    Clean and friendly

Just returned from a week here and was a little worried about the reviews but had no problems at all.

Apartments were clean and void of the ants previuously reported. people should be aware that insects do exist in hot countries too !!

Nice pool area and found the great value for money - if you eant five star then pay for it - ortherwise these are a nice clean cheper alternative.

    Don,t go here please!!!!!!!

hi just back from here, and this place is not nice at all, i don,t know what kind of accomodation other people have stayed in before but this place is disgusting beleive me, and for people to say its lovely must be on drink or drugs or just out of their minds, don,t believe the nice glossy photos you see, its definately not like them, on different days you go to pool bar for a drink and an ice cream and you are charged varying prices all the time, i think they charge you what they want, as for the accomadation, yes there are ants everywhere, yes the towels are faded and yes the cleaners don,t do much and yes the crockery is dirty, also peeling plaster coming of the building , a building site out the back which they don,t tell you about, and oh also the rubbish dump as well .plaese save your money and book somewhere nice like ayia napa or pratares, limassols beaches are also not nice, dirty sand, loads of rubbish around, but on the plus side if there was any ,the pool was ok and the locatoin was not bad, but this place needs upgrading to a higher standard definately.

Tasiana star excellent location and facility

Having just returned from the tasiana star I can vouch for how good i and the group i travelled with believe it is. The age range of our group was from 13 to 62 and everybody wants to go straight back. In fact the 62 year old intends to return once the world cup is over (nice when you have retired isn't it). The rooms were cleaned every day by the maids, any little niggles about the accomodation or indeed anything else were dealt with immediately. I love limassol, the beach, the friendliness and the fact that they drive on the same side as the road as us anyway, but but being about 400 yards from the beach as the tasiana star is was a bonus as you get all the benefits but not the traffic and noise. I appreciate that the tasiana family own a few blocks in this area, but we found the tasiana star lovely. On the way to the aprtments the driver did say that the star was the good one, but I had a look at number one (the original one and that seemed fine). We met a lot of people who return to the tasiana star every year sometimes twice!

The olympic rep was excellent as well!!!!!!

In summary, if you want some where that is functional, clean, tidy and helpful - check out the tasiana star. Any problems ask Riad behind the bar and he will assist and resolve.

The apartments were very basic but clean, a few ants around especially on the work

surface so no cooking advisable. cleaners didnt do much but i personally prefer that. There is nothing to do around the place except sunbathe but the pool area was nice with flowers. I give it 1 to 2 star rating basically you get what you pay for.

    Basic - But Clean

Hi, these apartments are not luxury, but were cleaned reguarly (about 3-4 times over 7 days).

I guess it depends how much you paid for them. I paid 15CYP a night for a studio apartment with basic cooking facilities. I can't comment on them as they were untouched during my stay.

The resort facilities include a Pool with bar nearby. There is another (inside) bar close by. Attached to that is a games area with a couple of Pool tables, table tennis and an assortment of video games.

I can't say too much else as I was out in the morning a didn't return until late night most days.

Only negatives were the bathroom: Hot water was hard to find and there was an occasional bad smell coming through.

    What a let down

I definitely would not I repeat not recommend this place to anyone, it was dirty and disgusting, and as for the cleaners all they done was empty the bin we didn't get our beds sheets changed once during the week, the was a horrible brown fake leather sofa and matching chairs at the table and they looked as if they hadn't been washed for years, there was ants coming out of the walls and am pretty sure that if removed the sink and its cupboards of the wall the would of been an ant colony as we left a toy from a bag of crisps in the ashtray on the sink and came back a few hours later to an army of about 50 ants which we killed most of but the rest escaped back behind the sink, there was a 10 year old fridge that hummed that loud it sounded like a lawnmower some of the other one's that went on the same holiday as us tried unsuccessfully to book other hotels they were as disgusted as us, the place needs knocked down and rebuild and as for the bathroom and the rest of the dust and dirt around the place, I'll not even go there, please take my advise and stay away from this place as I know it will ruin your holiday as it did ours

    What a dump

Spent a week here. The complex needs refurbishing. Bathroom was disgusting. Towels were worn and discoloured. Crockery was cracked and filthy. Will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Lovely drive with Geoff and Amanda to Lefkosia (Nikosia) where we crossed the Turkish border. We did some shopping and had a drink of fresh lemonade at one of the cafes in the Suk.

We then drove to the Mall for some lunch before heading to Lefkara, a small village in the mountains famous for their lace and silver.

We got home after six, got changed and went to dinner in the town of Lemesol at TGIF.

It's so much fun being with Geoff, Amanda and ...

The old town is small and has more character and we walked a little through it and then to the brand new marina, which has been designed to have style but, like so many such new creations, succeeds mainly in being twee. Time for a beer before I had to get off to ...

We had opted not to go on a trip and walked through the town, along the front and just lazed about. We only took four photos, as ...
