... out. Ozzies can be *****. As I write this I'm sat at a rooftop pool in hysterics because crib just stubbed his toe. I'm easily amused. Upon returning from the bar and showing me the blood dripping from his little piggy, we're discussing our adopted travel buddy. Remember the Swedish girl I ate with on the first night? Well her and Dan are awful pally (they're shagging). Crib and I missed the memo that this was a couples retreat. It's cute though. Much love ...

Brief stop in Bali

Bali 11/5

Bali is for sure top of our list of destinations this trip. Back to beaches, our first chance for surfing, laid back locals and cool fellow travellers. North and we passed by the eastern edge of Denpasar before taking the winding and rarely ever wide roads up to Ubud ...

... was headed next.

Throughout the night we had remarked how this was exactly what we had hoped to experience, a truly authentic cultural encounter, not put on for the tourists. We had a fantastic evening and felt the genuine warmth of the people as well as the significance of what this event meant to the local population. ...

Opposites don't always attract

There are many travel blogs that say Kuta is hell on earth. They wouldn't be far wrong. Guess where we were spending our NYE?! Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, I mean it does have a beach and nice shopping centres, and easy transport links to the southern temples in Bali. However, think of Magaluf and Malia and all of those places you went to on your way to becoming a man (or woman). Now imagine it with Australians. This is Kuta Bali. We arrived via a fast boat from the Gili Islands, with ...
