Day 2 Dubai to Kuala Lumpur

On the second day of our trip we flew from Dubai to Kuala Lumpur and arrived in KL quite late in the afternoon. Our taxi driver took us to the wrong hotel, they both have the same name strangely enough, which delayed us even further. The hotel was fantastic as we were to find throughout our trip through Asia. Most of the hotel rooms we stayed in …

Day 3 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

On the first day of our stay in KL we visited the royal palace, occupied by a king who is voted in by the people and not by royal lineage. This is quite a different concept. The palace can only be viewed from a distance from the main gates. What we could see was quite impressive and we had more fun watching the guards at the gate, one of whom kept …

The Vega Hotel was kind enough to provide us with an early breakfast as we had a 9.20 a.m. flight to catch. As had been arranged by Mr. Viet, the taxi came to take us to the airport for US15. We arrived in good time and after strolling about the airport, decided to check in. Security did not allow us in, however, until we had had our boarding …

... A LOT of amazing food. Chicken satay, coconut rice, spring rolls and kebab (!!!). Haven't had a kebab for over 5 months and it was actually really good! After sunset we arrived to Taman Negara. Earlier got recommended to do a guided hike in the rainforest with an overnight stop in a cave. When we arrived we found a place to stay for only 10 rm per night with a chilled out vibe located with view over the water. An retired jungle guide and employee at the hostel (who seemed ...

... last nights market was held and there is no rubbish or mess, only a few stalls are set up ready for today's business but generally the street seems like a different place to the hustle and bustle of last night. We manage to catch the free bus up to Bukit Bintag and visit one of the Shopping Malls which houses big expensive brands. The outside and interior is like Santa's Grotto and we feel Christmassy for the first time on our trip. From here we walk up to the ...

    Excellent hotel

An excellent hotel with large rooms and most of the facilities you would expect in an apartment rather than a hotel room. Also well located within walking distance from the city centre and the Petronas Twin Towers. The view from our room over the city and the Towers was also a highlight of our stay. Highly recommended.
