It was such magical time this Thanksgiving. From romping in the hot tub in the 15 degree snowing weather to sledding and snowboarding to walking down Main Street which reminds the kids of their grandparents little Christmas houses- this was a trip I will always remember. It started as a "what if we did this"moment as we tried to plan ...

... we were passed by a couple walking their dog who decided a paddle in the lake was a good way to cool off.

Up on the glacier a couple of skiers were climbing up and then skiing down, it looked like a lot of effort and risk for about 30 seconds of ski time. We walked up to the start of the glacier just so we could touch it, but no skiing.

Coming down we went a different way, based on the fact that there was no way to tell which way to go. ...

... Vail which is a beautiful area; the high street was all set up ready for the winter ski season with hotels, shops and restaurants. To one side was an area which would be the town ice rink. I had Colorado lamb for dinner in one of the few restaurants that was already open. Apparently Americans don't frequently eat lamb and most of it is imported from Australia but Colorado's is deemed to be better quality. I definitely need to come back here ...
