Thanks to a good nights sleep we were up early and rearing to go. One of the must do things in Byron was to walk to the lighthouse, Cape Byron. It is the most easterly point of Australia. Whales can often be seen from the lighthouse as they pass on their migration routes. Immediately to the South of the Cape was a hot surfer spot. ... extra night there. Firstly in the morning we went to a wetlands area, meant to be great for walking around and seeing all sorts of wildlife. To be honest it was nice to walk around but we hardly saw any wildlife so that was boring and got lost, which was frustrating! So all in all, we wouldn't recommend newcastle!
