Driving along an infinitely pristine beach, which disappears somewhere on the blue-pink horizon of the evening sun, with high-rises sprouting up alongside of it, I was pretty damn sure that ol'Jeepy spit us out somewhere south of Florida, USA. And if that wasn't the kicker, those uncreative bludgers named a city right after it - Miami. Blimey me! Unfortunate for us surfer hungry photographers however, was so called Surfers Paradise, which seemed ...

We spent a large amount of time on the Gold Coast at Surfers Paradise. It is very touristy and comparable to Florida night life. The beach is pretty but swimming is restricted to certain areas due to the danger of box jellyfish. The weather wasn't too great during the week so we did not spend much time on the beach regardless.

The major event that we experienced here ...

... the shopping complex where there are literally hundreds of stores and lots of nice restaurants. Watched the sand sculptors (there is a big sand sculpting competition going on) while we relaxed on the foreshore. When we got back to the room we had been joined by a nice German family, daughter, dad and grandad!! Around 5pm we headed out to the Hurricane Grill for a beautiful dinner, for Valentines Day, :) with a couple of XXXX stubbies and glasses of rosé. It ...
