    ... the long bamboo tunnel – what a beautiful area. We arrived at the hotel just on sunset and were stunned by how beautiful this resort is albeit a maze of paths and steps.     ... the 4 of us head out on a tour of the surrounding Bali area- Amy and Josh have an impressive itinerary of possible things to see, including rice paddies (which are up for a UNESCO World Heritage Site nomination), a viewing spot of the Batur volcano, and a few temples, all topped off with a fire dance at night. Given how tired we both feel, it is really nice having someone else plan, organize and arrange all of this. All we have to do is show up!

    Today is our big Ubud adventure day. No motorbikes this time though.

    We start the day heading west to the Campuhan Ridge walk. This four km walk takes you to the ridge between two dramatic gullies housing the Timor and Barat rivers. Indonesia is so green; palms, rice paddies and jungle surround the path.
