    ... was not all bad. The tyrants built a series of temples and structures in order to solidify their rule of the city and appease the masses, as well as the gods. The gate to the Temple of Apollo built by the tyrant Lacedaemonians of Naxos still stands on a hilltop in clear view of the harbor, framing the sunset quite beautifully.

    ... in to a bank and change some large euro notes for smaller ones - wrong - while process took about 45 min. First bank didn't do this, entering the second bank required the opening (by button pushing and waiting) of 2 security doors. Once inside had to make some sense of the mayhem - worked out I needed to take a ticket and await my number. Eventually got a teller who knew no english and so did transaction by writing numbers on back ...
