Utila Day 10

A travel blog entry by ryanaross

Was asleep by 1030 last night so waking up at 6am for diving was no problem. Got some solid rest. Unfortunately I woke up with a runny nose, I think I got whatever Rob and Jo had, a head cold. Not unexpected but bad timing, a cold can make it impossible to dive. I was nervous about it but it turned out to be no problem! The dive boat was just me and one other diver, and 6 divemasters who were just going out for fun. We were headed out to a dive ...

I didn’t witness the first two but when I finally found him, some guy came up to us and threw beer all over him, which of course got all over me as I was standing right next to him. Now that we are in our final days... we are venturing out on a drive to the other side of the island, where we will find a boat dock to be picked up by the restaurant ...

Today we did almost nothing. We played games, watched a movie, and ran a few errands. Stace and I got a little antsy and needed to get some fresh air. We took the kids for a really short run/walk.

We took our dinner outside to enjoy one of our last sunsets. I attempted to have the kids try to "hold" the sun. When I showed them the pics on the camera they we so excited to try again. It was pretty funny.

... They will also sting you if you get close enough, and we hear your foot would swell up for several weeks. You can actually get a reward for killing one, from the Marine Park. Within seconds, all 3 kids were back in the kayak. Stace tried to get closer to get a pic, but it hid in the rocks. After a few minutes we were all back in the water. The highlight was a pair of huge scrawled filefish. They are ...
