We also saw marmots at Forest Canon Overlook and walked part of the Ute Trail to try to see pikas. We were successful in that but they are very hard to spot unless they move! The are related to the rabbit, but have no tail.

... and admire what they've achieved. My Mt Sanitas climb gained an elevation of 1255 ft in 1.6 miles of straight upward climbing. This puts the summit at just shy of 7000 ft.
