    ... Jayne came up and I asked had she given the key to reception? Jayne had rung the bell but this being Manyana Ville, the person who was meant to be on reception had found a bed and simply rolled over. Jayne had then put the key into the post box. A slight problem, we were locked in and time was now becoming tight.

    ... in the day. She also told us that it going to be pretty rough. Jayne isn't the greatest fan of sea travel, but she agreed to jump aboard. The boat was about 40 foot long with an upper and lower deck, we chose the upper deck. Once we got out of the harbour you could see the condition of the sea.

    ... no doubt there's a reason for it. We took a stroll to Puerto De San Diego, this is more where the locals live and doesn't have the sheen of the purpose built Tourist Area. Life was going on there though as was death & we watched a local funeral taking place. The hearses were covered in garlands of flowers and lots of people were outside the house of the dearly departed paying their last respects.

    So, has anyone famous lived here? Well the most famous former resident was none other than Francisco Franco & from here in 1936 his plottings led to the Spanish Civil War. I havent seen any memorials to him here, so I guess the locals are not too fussed about him.

    ... on the desk found us two seats on a flight set to leave at 14.25pm......and we had to pay. Britain had a couple of goes at stealing Tenerife, but were never successful, which is a bit of a shame.
