... socialising and catching up with each other. The people we have spoken to are really friendly and have a good chat to you. The elderly ladies in the street usually give you a big smile and say 'Kalimera'.

We took the little red car and headed off South to look at some temple ruins and some of the beaches. Demeter's Temple ruins were from 500BC with an amazing backdrop of mountains.

A bit further on we came across a lovely bakery in a little village and bought 2 bread rolls, a piece of milk custard cake and two small yummy cakes. It made us feel better about the bag of motley fruit! ...

It seems so much easier to meet people on the road than in Vancouver. I still don't quite understand what it is about VanCity that makes people keep their distance. Robert hesitated awkwardly before inviting the Dutch to dinner. It was so nice to plan a spontaneous get-together, not having to provide two weeks' notice to ensure there are no schedule conflicts. Another benefit of travel.

... gave me multiple heart attacks by jumping from the top (about 8m high) a few times, trying to perfect his double front flip, and a back flip too. We got back on the boat and cruised to a private beach. It was gorgeous! Just a tiny little sandy bay with a table and a gazebo set up on one side. We played ball games and sunbaked and ate lunch.
