    We set out on our adventure at 5:45 am - only 45 behind schedule! We were making good time until we got just outside Slidell, LA where somebody got the brilliant idea to shut down a lane of the freeway for a minor repair without a plan to reroute the traffic. 2 hours and 15 minutes to travel 12 miles later and our ETA is now 12:15AM - ugh!     ... everyone else went for shrimp of some kind, while I took ribs (when in the states, you gotta right?). They were melt in the mouth, sweet and sticky, everything ribs should be.     Went to seaside today, very fun area with quaint shops, food trucks and beach access. Found a heck of a deal for a kids sand shovel, only $28. Had great lunch at crab shack, really yummy food! Had red gulf shrimp and Rick had Cuban sandwich on an elevated patio over the beach. Very awesome views with cool breezes. Red and purple flags meant dangerous waters and jelly fish. Surf up 8-10 feet so no swimming in the ocean ...
