    The weather was hazy as we sailed into Crete but as the day warmed up the haze disappeared and we had another cloudless, hot day.     Getting there required climbing a lot of steep steps, although donkeys were available to take visitors up a different, steeper path, albeit for a fee. There weren’t many takers, even though it was another really hot and humid day.
