Got up at about 8, had eggs and sausage and toast in the condo
Green pollen pods have COVERED our car every morning, very messy.
The kids made a craft, then we went back to the clubhouse pool and spent the day there until Downtown Disney trip. The sun has just been brutal all week. We hear on the news about the UV index. The kids …
... SUV (all the economy cars were gone - free upgrade) into the sunrise. The sun rose as a slowly whitening purple-orange ball. Unfortunately the foliage at the sides of the road didn't give us much of a view for photography. We were on a toll road to get to KSC, but the somewhat regular punctations of toll booths in the otherwise straight and boring road were actually a welcome interruption to a tired driver.
We got to KSC over an hour before it opened - ...
And, just like that our much anticipated family vacation to Walt Disney World is over. How is it that nine nights & ten days can go by so quickly? A better question, actually, is how can so much time go by and it feel like you barely scratched the surface of what there was to do! That's the real magic of Disney, I guess!
... the countries we stopped at Morocco where we met Jasmine and Aladdin. As we were waiting Noel started to help clean Epcot and pick up all the twigs in the walkway. Once at Jasmine, Noel mentioned that she had a friend named Yasmine which was the ice breaker for Aladdin and Jasmine. Noel even managed to sneak in a hug to Jasmine. I'm still trying to figure out why they give these two the biggest hair of all the prince and princesses.

... the fresh Copper River salmon grilled on a cedar plank and accompanied by fresh veggies, was incredible. It was buttery and not at all fishy, with just enough crisp crust. I was too full for dessert (although the berry cobbler sounded great) so I finished with a coffee and Frangelico.
I was so pleased with this experience; on our last couple of Disney trips dining had gone downhill and felt rushed during many meals. This, however, was ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Summer Bay Resort Clermont
Due to the mixed reviews for this resort, I did not expect great accomodations, however, I was wrong. It had a great club house with tennis, arcade, and a place to rent videos without leaving the premise.
You could even rent ski jets and fish if you wanted a relaxing day away from the theme parks.
The two bedroom suite was great and included a hot tub and a balcony that overlooked a small pond. It was very relaxing and the rooms were clean.
The resort was very close to the Disney attractions and places to eat.
I highly recommend this resort.
We had the worst experience with Summer Bay long before we arrived. I went thru one of these marketing places where they give you 5 days, 4 nights plus 2 Disney Tickets for 3 parks. They only this you had to do is listen for 90 minutes to a presentation to buy timeshare. When I made this reservation, I was told I was going to stay at a 1 bedroom condo and the Summer Bay resort. It was turning out that they were putting us up at the Holiday Inn, not the 1 bedroom condo they had promised. This was thru a marketing company that Summer Bay hired.
It could only be better if it was FREE!
Our accommodations were beautiful, and better than expected compared to other places we've stayed. Fun activities for the kids that are supervised, so pa and I could relax. We drove to DW, but a shuttle was offered as an option. One day we had a nice boat ride on the lake which separates the resort from Animal Kingdom and watched the animals. The kids were thrilled! The clubhouse, pools, activities, gift shop, lake, etc. can't be beat, unless you stay at WDW at 5X the price.
We had reserved a 3 bedroom condo for our family. When we walked into our room, we found that it was only a 2 bedroom not even large enough to sleep our family of 8. (I guess they thought we wouldn't notice!?!) When we brought this to the attention of the staff, we were told that even though our resevervation was correct there were no 3 bedrooms avalible and if we didn't like it, we could check out! They did finally give us an extra 2 bedroom condo at the other end of the building for the rest of our family. The condo smelled terrible. We did not have hot showers the whole week we were there and on the morning we left there was not even enough water pressure to make the showers work!! The units are not carpeted in the commom living spaces and therefore everything echos. The people staying above you sound like they are stomping around at all hours. What a let down.

Summer bay resort, kissimmee
we stayed at summer bay resort. the holiday inn express was nice, but
we got there at 4 and our room wasnt cleaned yet. when we got there we
were told it be an extra $11 a night for hotel tax. i had asked before
for our exact amount and this was not told to me. then when we checked
in i was told i had to leave a $50 deposit. we were told we could get
public transportation from the airport and around there because we
didnt have a car. the only thing we could get from the airport was a
taxie which cost $50. no transportation at the resort. had to take a
taxie to another place $3.50 each way to get a city bus to go anyplace.
did not like it. to many surprises and not telling the truth.
I checked out reviews and pictures of the resort ahead of time before arriving. I knew all the amenities to expect. The nice room accommadations, the beautiful grounds with a fish-stocked lake, and the family pool area. What I was not prepared for was the Timeshare Sales Staff!
Gotta love this place!
This place is great, we own a 3 bedroom house with it's own swimming pool! We have been going for three years and can't wait to get back. Lots of great activities for kids, and a great poolside bar for the adults. Extreemly well landscaped and great up-keep on the property. Close to everything except the Florida Turnpike.
A Very Satisfied Owner
My husband and I are the owners of a 3BR Home in Summer Bay Resort. We've spent 1 vacation there and are due to check-in during April 2003. I can't wait!! This is truly a beautiful resort, great staff and I just can't say enough about it! If you're looking or entertaining the idea of buying a timeshare, check out Summer Bay and you'll look no further!
Being frugal by nature (due to my Scottish heritage?), I could hardly resist the offer from the wholesaletravel site to stay at Summer Bay Resort. Yes, it did come with the string of having to attend the perfunctory timeshare sales pitch, but at a rate of $39 plus tax per night for a one bedroom condo with a jacuzzi, it was exactly what my fiancee' and I needed for a vacation.
