... night. We only ate a light breakfast this morning as we knew we would be eating an early lunch in Innsbruck, Austria later this morning. By 8:00 a.m. the bus was loaded and we were off to Austria. We drove approximately an hour and then made a rest stop to pick up a specializes toll box which tracks the coach's movement and charges tolls according to how far it travels. Similar to toll highways back home, except there is no stopping to pay, the computer charges a credit ...

Somehow, last night, we didn't get to bed until three...not sure how that happened but it made for a short night. We woke up at 7:30, had our breakfast at the picnic table outside The Shack (which consisted of bananas and nutella on bread, granola bars, and some milka...breakfast of champions), and were on our way to Venice by 9:30. After leaving the church I walked around the Piazza checking out all the little shops. The glass from Murano is quite lovely but expensive, at some point I will have to make it over the water to the factories and see if I can get something cheaper.

I stopped for a bite to eat. As I had lunch ...

... in a corner on rickety chairs. Wasn't going to happen. We moved on to a better location with better prices and better manners by the service.

We wandered the streets watching the gondolas pass by while poking around glass and mask shops to admire the beauty. When a pastry shop or gelato stand got our attention, we would stop to taste something. As we worked our way back to the train to head back to the hotel around seven in the evening, we grabbed sandwiches to go. We got ...
