We went to an historical village which was very interesting – most of the village was original and had been transported here from outlying areas. ... and we did a lot of walking, especially in Amana. Middle Amana has Iowa's largest rocker made of walnut. It reminded me of the rocker "Edith Ann" used to sit in. In fact they have a picture of Lilly Tomlin sitting in the chair.
After spending several hours with a German religious sect, we drove over to Kalona, IA which is an Amish/Mennonite community. Bob wanted some more bread. We walked around the small town for a bit viewing the "quilt squares" ...

After spending about 6 hours here (in a 2
hour parking zone taking up nearly 2 spaces) -but the Sheriff did wave
to us - e moved on to the Amana colonies where the only available
camping place was a commercial one but rather cheaper than most as it
was only $34 and surprise, we got a 50% discount with our Passport
America card. It was really huge but nice.
