First of all we left the town and drove into the heart of the island, where we went to a small village. Here we went to see an olive press museum, then walked down and saw a traditional ceramic maker. We saw how he made his pots and jars. It seems designed to trap the unwary: calm waters can turn to tempests, and as the ancient mariner new well though there is water, water everywhere you'll not find a drop to drink. Yet, as I stared out the window of the ferry to see a white sailboat in the distance plying the pure blue waters, I could think of few things more beautiful. It makes you feel quite small, in the grand ...

      Naxos and history..

A travel blog entry by madhumithabala on May 02, 2012

We bid farewell to Santorini and boarded the Blue Star ferry to the island Naxos. The boarding procedure was not a pleasant experience because of the overcrowded port and delayed arrival of the ferry. But the ferry was more like a cruise ship and apparently a brand new ship recently bought by the ferry company. I took about an hour ...
