We started the morning exploring the east face of Steamboat to find the most spectacular views and some beautifully pitched runs. These new demo skis are the real deal. Love them, and decided not to switch them for our third and final day tomorrow. They make everything easy and quick to bail out of trouble in tough stuff. ... all year--and I take a bunch of trips!

I opted to depart Boston on a Wednesday afternoon and flew to Denver on United where I connected to an evening flight to Hayden, which is the closest commercial airport to Steamboat. ... of my travel plans, as well they should be. Travelling in Asia, unable to speak the language, and less than ideally educated on the region... This truly will be a life-changing/educational experience. It is amazing just how many possessions I am liquidating to make this happen. Bikes, clothing, sports gear, more bikes... all to follow some destination my "heart" is leading me to. I am finding it easier to ...

... had enough and decided to head for home, got to the top of one run and people everywhere are standing around when a guy on a snowboard arrives rips off his goggles and asks (in that usual deep yank voice) is everyone enjoying this day with goggles icing over, we all start laughing, we were all having vision problems. I didn't even go out in the afternoon, couldn't go through that again. Sunny day expected tomorrow and all the weekenders will ...
